Payment Disclosures

1. The core promise

Your card is authorized when you send a question and charged only if the expert replies within the response window, which is 4 days. You are only ever charged the exact amount you authorized, never more.

2. What an authorization is

An authorization is a hold placed through Stripe. It can show as pending on your statement, but it is not a charge.

3. When you are charged

A text reply captures when it arrives inside the window. Voice and video calls are different, and every one of them has two people in it: the buyer is the person who asked for the call and paid for it, and the expert is the person who was booked. The buyer's card is charged when the expert confirms the requested time, which happens before the call takes place, not after it. Industry Intros receives that payment for its own account as the seller. The expert's share is not released to them until the call actually happens. Who turned up for a confirmed call decides where that money goes:

  • The buyer and the expert both join and have the call. The call is delivered. The expert is paid their share and the buyer's payment is final.
  • The expert never joins, or cancels or declines after confirming. The expert is not paid, and the buyer's payment goes back to the card they used. A person on the Industry Intros team sends that return, so it is not instant, and the buyer's bank then takes its own time to post it. Email support@industryintros.com to check where it is.
  • The expert joins at the booked time and the buyer does not. The expert held that time and was there for it, so the call counts as delivered. The expert is paid and the buyer's payment is final. A buyer who cannot make a time they booked should propose a new one rather than miss it.
  • Neither of them joins, or the call ends almost the moment it starts. Nothing is decided automatically. The buyer's payment and the expert's share both stay where they are until a person on the Industry Intros team looks at what happened, and the outcome follows that review. The buyer and the expert are both told what was decided.
  • A call that moves. A rescheduled call is delivered when it happens at the new time, and the cases above apply to that time. If the buyer or the expert proposes a new time and the other one never accepts it, the original time stands.

4. When you are never charged

No reply in time, a declined question, or a live call your expert never confirms. In each case the hold is released automatically and you pay nothing. Your bank may take a few days to drop the pending line from your statement.

5. Follow-ups

Continuing a conversation is a new paid question at the expert's text rate, with its own authorization and the same protections.

6. Flags

You can report a problem with any reply, for fraud, a terms or community violation, or serious abuse. A delivered answer is not refundable, and reporting a problem is not a request for your money back. Industry Intros may reverse a payment at its discretion in those cases, but there is no buyer-elective refund on an answer that was delivered. See the Flag & Review Policy.

7. Membership billing, renewal, and cancellation

Auto-renewing subscription. Membership is a monthly subscription. It renews automatically on your renewal date and charges the plan price to the card on file until you cancel. Your discount applies to every question, in every format, for as long as your membership is active.

Membership fees are non-refundable. The monthly fee is billed in advance and is not refundable, in whole or in part, once a cycle begins, including for unused questions, partial months, or a cycle you did not use. Membership fees are separate from per-question payments, which follow the hold-and-capture rules above.

How to cancel. Cancel anytime, in one click, from Settings → Membership using the "Cancel membership" button, or by emailing support@industryintros.com from your account email. There are no retention calls and no cancellation fee.

When to cancel to avoid the next charge. Cancel before your renewal date, shown in Settings → Membership. Cancelling stops the next renewal only; you keep your discount and access through the end of the cycle you already paid for, and you are not charged again. Cancelling does not refund the cycle you are already in.

8. For experts

You keep 70% of your own set price on every question, your full rate, before any member discount. A member discount comes out of Industry Intros's share, not yours, so a discounted sale never lowers your payout. If a buyer adds time to a call, you keep 70% of that added time too. Membership fees are separate: the monthly membership a buyer pays is between the buyer and Industry Intros and is not shared with experts. Earnings pay out on Stripe's standard payout schedule, which for US accounts is ordinarily about 2 business days after each reply unless you change your payout schedule in Stripe. Payouts run through Stripe Connect, and Stripe issues 1099 tax forms where required. Industry Intros never stores your bank details.

9. Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. Industry Intros never sees or stores card numbers. Industry Intros is the seller and merchant of record for every payment on the platform. Amounts owed to experts are paid out through Stripe Connect as described above. Industry Intros is not a bank, a money transmitter, an escrow agent or a fiduciary, and nothing in these disclosures creates a trust, escrow or fiduciary relationship over any funds.
