Industry Intros

Terms of Service

Last updated September 29, 2026

1. What Industry Intros is

Industry Intros is a marketplace that connects people working in film, TV, and entertainment with senior people working in the industry. Experts on Industry Intros are independent. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of Industry Intros, and nothing they say is said on our behalf.

2. Your account

Industry Intros is offered to people located in the United States only, and you must be 18 or older to use it. Keep your account information accurate, keep your login to yourself, and use one account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3. How paying works

When you send a question, your card is authorized for the exact amount shown, and charged only if the expert replies within their response window. If they do not reply in time, or they decline, the hold is released and you are never charged. The full mechanics live in our Payment Disclosures, which are part of these terms.

4. Answers are perspective, not professional advice

Experts share their personal experience and point of view. Their answers are not legal, financial, tax, or investment advice, and no answer is a promise of a job, a deal, funding, or any outcome. Decisions you make based on an answer are yours.

5. Conduct

Be respectful. Do not harass anyone, on either side of a conversation. Do not ask an expert to break a confidence, breach an NDA, or share non-public information about their company or its projects. Experts can decline any question, for any reason, and a decline never costs the buyer anything.

6. Keep it on Industry Intros

Paying or getting paid outside Industry Intros for a conversation that started on Industry Intros is not allowed. Our protections, the hold, the review process, the release when no reply comes, only exist on the platform.

7. Your content

You own what you write here. You give Industry Intros the license we need to host it, deliver it inside the conversation, and operate the service. We do not use your questions or answers to train AI systems, and we do not publish them without your permission.

8. For experts

Identity and bank verification for payouts runs through Stripe Connect's secure onboarding (you enter your legal name, tax details, and bank account directly with Stripe; Industry Intros never sees or stores them). Payouts and the platform fee are described in the Payment Disclosures. You are responsible for your own taxes; Stripe issues tax forms where required.

9. Flags and review

If something is seriously wrong with a reply, such as suspected fraud, impersonation, abuse, or a terms violation, buyers can report it and a person at Industry Intros reviews it. This is not for quality dissatisfaction, which belongs in your rating. How it works is set out in the Flag & Review Policy. A review outcome concludes the review. It does not limit any right you have under the law, including your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer.

10. Ending an account

You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. Any open questions and payments are resolved under these terms first.

11. Disclaimers and limits

Industry Intros is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid to Industry Intros in the 12 months before the claim, and Industry Intros is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost opportunities, arising out of your use of the service. None of that applies to anything the law does not let us limit. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, for gross negligence, for willful misconduct, or any liability covered by California Civil Code section 1668, and nothing in these terms waives or limits any right you have under the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act, California Civil Code section 1750 and following, or under the California Unfair Competition Law, California Business and Professions Code section 17200 and following. Where a state does not allow a limit set out above, only the part of that limit the law allows applies.

12. Your responsibility for how you use Industry Intros

You agree to indemnify and hold Industry Intros harmless from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) that arises from your use of Industry Intros, the content you post, your interactions with other users on or off the platform, or your breach of these terms or of the law.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute relating to Industry Intros will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California.

14. Changes and contact

When these terms change, we post the updated version here and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Using Industry Intros after that date means you accept the updated terms, to the extent the law allows. Questions go to support@industryintros.com.

15. Recording calls

Industry Intros does not record, transcribe, or store the audio or video of a voice or video call. We keep only the details of the call itself: when it was scheduled, when it actually started and ended, how long it ran, who was on it, and technical connection information. The chat inside a call is not kept either. It exists for the length of the call and nothing of it survives, which means we cannot read it back, produce it, or act on a report about something said in it, the way we can for messages sent through the conversation. If something said in call chat matters to you, take your own note during the call. You may not record, transcribe, or otherwise capture any part of a call, and you may not share or publish any such recording, without the express consent of everyone on the call. California and many other states require every party to consent before a conversation is recorded, and recording without that consent can carry civil and criminal penalties. Complying with those laws is your responsibility. Industry Intros has no way to prevent a recording made by a user and is not liable for one, and recording in breach of this section can cost you your account.

16. Film and TV credits

Experts can attach film and television credits to their profile. Those credits, including titles, dates, roles and poster artwork, come from TMDB (The Movie Database), a community-maintained film and television database that Industry Intros licenses. The expert chooses which of their credits to show. We do not add any for them. We do not verify credits. The match is made from the IMDb page the expert gave us, and what is shown is whatever TMDB holds, which may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. A credit on a profile is not a check Industry Intros has carried out, and it is not a guarantee of anyone’s experience or identity. TMDB owns that information and we show it under licence. We do not own it and cannot correct it. If something looks wrong, tell us, and tell TMDB. Industry Intros uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.

17. If part of these terms cannot be enforced

If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, that part applies as far as the law allows and the rest of these terms stay in force. If Industry Intros does not enforce a right straight away, it does not give that right up.
